Two new Series 40 nokia devices, the Nokia 305 and 311 leaked unto the interwebs three days ago, both devices, targeted at entry-level users are rumoured to launch in China within the week. As of right now, there are no details of the specs or release timeline but a source at Nokia was able to confirm to us that it is likely these devices will find their way to these parts soon riding on the waves of the success of the recent launch of the nokia asha series.
Series 40 is a simpler operating system than the higher end S60 as S40 devices do not support true multi-tasking and do not have a native code API for third parties. It’s usually used for the low-end cheap nokia devices and the newest iterations pack in some basic “smartphone” capabilities.
The Nokia 305 and 311 will be the first versions of hardware to contain an all touch optimized S40 build.
