Starting now, you can now attach up to 10Gb as an email attachment on your Gmail account…well…sort of.
Google has just rolled out a new “Insert files using Drive feature which let’s you share files up to 400 times larger than the usual 25mb limit with email recipients. Files shared in that manner are hosted on the cloud so recipients get the most recent version of the files.
Gmail also smartly double checks if all the recipients can access the attachment before it sends and will prompt you to edit the file’s permissions before you send it.
To send such attachments, just click on the new Drive icon which now shows up while you are composing an email.
It should be noted that this service is only available to those who use the new Gmail compose experience.
