The launching which was held in Ikoyi, Lagos yesterday, is meant to usher in the 2-in-1 product line of computer devices that serve dual functionality as a laptop and tablet all for the price of one.
Kicking off the event, the Managing Director, Intel Corporation West Africa, Mr. Olubunmi Ekundare pointed out how Intel has always been at the forefront of innovation in devices thus leading to a continuous improvement in users’ PC experiences. This has led to them collaborating with Lenovo and Microsoft in launching the Lenovo Yoga series which come with Intel’s processors on Lenovo’s hardware and run on Microsoft’s software. Maurizo Riva of Intel also gave a keynote speech highlighting the flexibility in being able to switch to PC/tablet depending on his usage scenarios.
The Lenovo Yoga devices are 2-in-1 Windows laptops which can be converted through a fully 360-degrees rotatable display and hinges into 4 presentation modes to enable their usage as regular laptops or tablets.
During a Q&A session held with panelists from the 3 firms, questions on availability, specifications, market opportunities and pricing were covered and then it was time to reveal who the brand ambassador for the #BestOfBothWorlds campaign was.
Unsurprisingly, it was lawyer, model and TV/media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who as Mr. Ekundare pointed out aptly demonstrates the dual personality, productivity and flexibility of the Lenovo Yoga brand.
A TV commercial featuring the brand ambassador was also aired which showcased the Yoga 300 and Yoga 500 devices, which were launched as well as the Yoga 700 and 900 which will be available shortly.
To round up the launch, there was an experience center where guests could try out these devices firsthand as well as photo ops and interviews with all partners.
Below are a few photos from the launch event. Keep an eye out for our first impressions as well as a detailed review of our #BestOfBothWorlds experience while we spend some time with the Lenovo Yoga 500.
