Since BlackBerry launched its sticker collection, they have pretty much replaced the old smileys as the default means of sending an “emotion” over BBM. The BBM shop has exploded with sticker collections, both free and paid as well.
Following the success of a couple of localised stickers on its market, BlackBerry seems to be trying to deepen its collection with of localised (Nigerian) expressions in its market and as a result, has announced a competition with up to a million Naira in prizes up for grabs for designers who are interested in trying their hands on designing stickers.
To get into the competition, head to www.bbmstickamania.com, register, read the design rules and have fun. Uploaded stickers will be voted on by the public and the first three with the highest votes will get prize money of N500,000, N250,000 and N125,000 respectively, and the next ten runner ups will also get N25,000 each for trying.
Besides the cash prices, the winning sticker packs will get free promotion on BlackBerry World, where the designer can sell them to end users. Voters who choose to vote aren’t left out, as 20 lucky voters will also walk away with N10,000 worth of airtime each.
