You Can Now Send Documents in WhatsApp Chat

Before now, media sharing in WhatsApp was restricted to audio, video and images but now a new update, which is rolling out to Android and iOS devices, enables users to share documents with their contacts. The new update allows sharing of PDF file, for now, but WhatsApp promises to include more file extensions in the future.

For iOS users, the new update allows sharing of photos/videos from cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive and also lets the user select different colours for background in Chat. Android users get 100 new emojis, with support for 5 new languages. Also, chats and media can be backed up with Google Drive Backup and it is compatible with Android 6.0 Permissions.

To send a document, simply click on the “attachment” icon on WhatsApp and you will see “Document” which lets you to send PDF files to WhatsApp Contacts. However, it is necessary for users to update their WhatsApp to the latest version in order to send or receive documents. Android and iOS users should head to their respective stores to get the latest version and start enjoying these new features.
