Following MTN’s review of its data plans, Etisalat which till now was the last one holding out, has also done a downward review of two of its plans.
The plans in question are it’s N1000 and N2,000 plan which before now offered 1GB and 2GB respectively. Under the new pricing, while the cost hasn’t changed, the data allowances have been bumped up to 1.5GB and 3.5GB respectively.
Both plans can still be activated by their old codes – *229*2*7# for the N1,000 plan and *229*2*8#.
One wonders if just like MTN, this is a test to see what the market response would be or whether they feel that the reduction of these two plans is sufficient to counter the effect of the cheaper data plans on all the other networks.
As at the time of writing this there’s still a 3GB for N4000 plan, a 5GB for N6,500 plan and 8GB for N8,000, which reflect their old pricing.
