Huawei Refurbishes ICT Center in a Lagos School

Huawei Technologies, an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions provider, aims to “enrich lives and improve efficiency through a better connected world”. In line with this they have, together with Ebube Oti and Friends of the Environment, refurbished the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center in a Secondary School in Lagos.

Ebube Oti, a Youth Corp member, initiated this project because of his passion for knowledge and providing solutions that will improve students learning experiences and teachers working efficiencies. With Huawei, the school was provided with internet enabled desktop computers, projectors, laser copiers and air-conditioning.

At the ceremony Fancy Feng Hongjuan, the Public Relations  Manager for Huawei Technologies, delivered a speech where she stated that Huawei Technologies seeks opportunities like these to demonstrate some of their core values. And how partnering with Friends of the Environment, a non-governmental organization (NGO), in planning and implementation brought this project to life.

Also present at the ceremony were Mr Lucas Xufeng, Human Resource Manager for Huawei Technologies, some NYSC officials including Mr Cyril Akhanemhe (Lagos State Coordinator), Mrs Tokunbo Ashade (Zone B Zonal Inspector), Mrs Maria Osadebe (Assistant Director, Head of Development and Relocation), Mr Ifeanyi Maduka  and Mrs Kunbi Adesokan (Directors of Friends of the Environment)

Mr Cyril lauded the project and thanked all parties involved. In commending them, he also encouraged other corporate organizations to participate in projects like this – projects whose major impact is focused on developing students.
