Andela, the global talent accelerator that finds bright young people in Africa and trains them to world-class developers has its driving principle as “Genius is evenly distributed, opportunity is not”.
In trying to create as much opportunities for as many bright Africans as possible, Andela will have to expand to train as many people as they can and this is what has been happening. With a mission to train over a 100,000 young people by 2024, Andela certainly would not be able to achieve this from just the Lagos and Nairobi locations.
Starting off in Lagos and New York, Andela expanded its operations to Kenya in 2015. Last month, their newsletter let us know that they would now be expanding to Calabar, Cross River to accommodate applicants from the South West and South-South region and also Abuja, to cover the North-Central and North-West regions. Applications are presently open for a Fellowship at both locations.
The Andela Fellowship is a full-time employment opportunity that will enable one to hone the skills needed to become a global technology leader.
On another note, a newsletter this week also let us know that they would be accepting applications for Ugandans for a bootcamp. “We’re very excited to announce we’ve opened applications for the first ever Uganda Cohort!” – The email read. It may seem that there are plans to also tap into the Ugandan space.
