The just launched Tecno L9 Plus out of the box is one HUGE device. The size is the very first thing that immediately catches your eye. Reminds you of the Samsung Note series. Next thing that you’ll notice is the weight, but I guess that is to be expected, seeing as the most prominent feature in the press about the device is its battery—it sports a 5000mah battery, which you can in fact use to charge other devices, using the included USB-OTG cable.
The review unit here comes in a light shade of gold, or rather something between really light gold and rose gold.
It’s looks boxy with slightly rounded corners and I think the fact that there is a lot of real estate both above and below its 6-inch display adds to its (for lack of better phrase) “big phone” look. It’s almost what you’ll expect as an offspring if a tablet and a smartphone got together. The back is pretty plain as well, with a two tone design and the Tecno branding.
On the insides the device sports a 1.3Ghz, Quadcore processor, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel with flash primary camera, a 5-megapixel front camera also with flash, and features a dual sim that is 3G ready. It also features a fingerprint scanner.
We’ll be taking the device for a thorough spin and will be back to spill more details about it. In the meantime, here are a few unboxing photos.
