You can now pre-order Samsung’s newest flagship device the Samsung Galaxy S8 and its larger sibling, the Galaxy S8 Plus in Nigeria.
The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which were officially launched on May 29th, 2017 are now available for pre-order from Samsung at www.Galaxys8.ng with actual devices available from May 5th, 2017.
The Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch display, while the S8 plus features a larger, 6.2-inch display. Both displays are AMOLED and Quad HD, and feature a curved, bezel-less design Samsung is calling “Infinity Display.”
Besides the display and battery sizes—the S8 has got a 3000mAh battery, while the S8 Plus has 500mAh more—both devices are pretty much same on the inside, with both featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa core (2.35 GHz Quad + 1.7 GHZ Quad) for the US variant, and a Samsung Exynos Octa core (2.35 GHz Quad + 1.9 GHZ Quad) on the international variant, which, no doubt, is the variant that will be making its way to these parts. They both will ship with 64GB of ROM, expandable by up to 256GB via microUSB. Both devices are also water and dust (IP68)-resistant.
Both devices also feature the same 8-megapixel F1.7 Smart auto-focus front camera and 12MP F1.7 Dual Pixel rear camera as the S7, but Samsung promises that the camera software has been re-written to boost performance by a lot.
There’s currently no word on the pricing yet, but considering that the Naira has gone south, I’ll be surprised if it’s not close to the N200,000 mark.
