TECNO Camon CX: A DSLR-like Smartphone?

TECNO Camon series are camera centric smartphones with top of the grade camera quality.

The Camon C8 and C9 were excellent camera phones but the Camon CX ticks lot of boxes in terms of camera upgrade compared to the previous version. These are my findings:

The Camon CX boasts of a 16MP front facing camera with dual LED flash that brightens up selfies taken in low light. At the back is also a 16MP camera sensor, which is an IMX298 sensor from SONY-the same sensor on OnePlus 3 and Xiaomi Mi5.

The back camera comes with a Quad-LED ring system that enhances photography up to 50% compared to other smartphone cameras. Check out sample pictures from the Camon CX.

On the display and design side of things, Camon CX doesn’t look cheap at all, it is a full metal device that feels quite premium in the hands. It measures just 5.6mm in the thinnest part. The display is quite good, thanks to the Full HD IPS screen that pops up colour well. One would have no problem using the device under sunlight, as the display, which is further protected by a 2.5D glass, enhances sunlight visibility.

If you happen to be a Blackberry adherent, you have every reason to upgrade to the new Camon CX. It is equipped with LED light notification with a blue color signifier, for notifications.

Finally, if a good design, great back and front cameras and efficient operating system are your reasons for buying a phone. The Camon CX delivers excellently well on these areas. The device is available in all TECNO retail outlets across Nigeria at a price of N70, 000.
