Hey African entrepreneurs, founders, co-founders and investors world-over, there’s something interesting planned this summer.
CcHub is going to have a Pitch Drive, an open pitch event which will give investors the chance to see founders showcase their businesses live while learning about the emerging and dynamic African startup ecosystem. It will be hosted in 5 European cities – London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich and Paris.
PitchDrive will showcase the best of African start-up ecosystems selected from across the continent and all on a mission to inspire and be inspired to grow. This is a rare exhibition of Africa’s finest, all with a strong drive to make history.
Africa has become home to the world’s fastest growing cities, and more than half of the world’s population growth will take place on the continent over the coming decades. By 2050, cities like Lagos and Kinshasa will be global megacities, each holding well over 30 million inhabitants.
Africa is also at the start of a technological renaissance and investors are recognizing the potential as well. Last year, it was estimated that African startups raised a record-breaking total of $366.8 million in investment in 2016 with the top 10 destinations being Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Uganda.
If you are an angel investor or an individual looking to invest between €1000-€15,000 into African tech startups through a syndicate, here is an opportunity for you.
CcHUB’s Pitch Drive is powered by Google for Entrepreneurs. You can find out more about the event here.
